Having escaped from an arctic Minnesota icescape, Kat Tanaka now takes refuge in Washington D.C. as a starving artist. A recent 2016 graduate of St. Olaf College, Kat hopes her Studio Art major will allow her to sustain her obsession with patterns and learn more about her Japanese heritage.
Kat’s work is primarily inspired by Edo Japan, the female figure, lurid colors and rude patterns.
